- our facilitators are all qualified youth workers and advanced students on work

placements trained by our consultants in both process-oriented tools and cognitive behavioural

therapy, specialising in social communication and social cognition.

Co-facilitators

 

We regularly work with youth workers of the organisations through which we provide our services.

Anne Jefford

 

Anne Jefford’s career began as a teacher of looked after children; she has taught in areas of deprivation in  London and latterly has taught Traveller, Gypsy, Fairground and Circus communities in Hertfordshire, across all phases including Adult Education.


She has worked with theatre groups in writing Traveller relevant plays, to take productions onto Traveller sites and prisons and initiated projects in schools to promote respect and self esteem.

 

In her advisory role to schools she has produced commercially published resources for schools, including stories reflecting Traveller lifestyle and an account of good practice for school staff. She has also produced work packs for secondary schools, to be used in Holocaust Memorial Week.

 

She has worked for AfC for 7 years and is deeply committed to the principles of the AFC programme which will offer participants the opportunity to take personal decisions, and ensures full participation in the decision making, which will ultimately give them control of their lives.   

Susie Adams

Director of Calm Conflict Solutions

She is a Mediator, Conflict Coach, Facilitator and Trainer. 

 

For Act for Change she has co-ordinated and facilitated workshops, trained and supported facilitators. 

 

She is an Associate Member for Global Mediation.

 

In the past she has worked as a Manager, Mediator, Conflict Coach and Trainer for the Hillingdon Community Mediation Service.

 

She established a Family Outreach Service in an area of high deprivation supporting families to access core services.  She worked alongside the Police, Health Visitors and schools to support hard to reach families.

 

On a voluntary basis she trains mentors to mentor young people experiencing difficulties for a Buckinghamshire based charity.
