About the Course
Our Act for Change Practitioner Training is a stand-alone course. You have the option to join a weekly supervision group for your work with individual young people and families and a Community of Practice to reflect together on your work with groups and communities and the structural issues you encounter.
A 100 hours Placement with Act for Change is also available should you wish it.
By the end of the course, you will be fully equipped as an Act for Change Practitioner to work with the challenging scenes children and young people increasingly find themselves in. You will also be invited to join our Practitioner Network.
During the course of your training with us, you might wish to record profile details (in an anonymised way) and referral indicators of young people and their families you are working with. This will enable you to develop, together with your AFC Supervisor, a support plan and measure the success of your interventions. Sign up to make use of our case management system.
What you will learn
- How to diagnose & tailor interventions to the developmental stage
- How to map the community support available
- How to explore choice points for interventions & use diagnoses handed down by other professionals to assess need responsively.
